X-Men of Apocalypse #1

I went back and forth on whether I should purchase this comic book or not. I decided to make the purchase of the X-Men of Apocalypse #1 comic book for $4.99. There are only twenty pages of comic book content within. That is one of the things that gives me pause about reading any more of this franchise. There are some real oddity within X-Men of Apocalypse #1 as well. Advertisements can be found throughout this comic book.

There are credits on the third page of X-Men of Apocalypse #1. There is also art on that page. Things get weird on the fourth page. Want to know why? The fourth page is a dedicated page of credits and the intro. Why were the credits on the third page then? That makes zero sense to me personally. The issues families can have with X-Men of Apocalypse #1 are violence, blood, bad language, and more.

Warning! Spoilers will be a part of the rest of this review. Warning! The X-Men of Apocalypse meet The Uncanny X-Men in this comic book. The stakes are made really high in X-Men of Apocalypse #1. Then X-Men of Apocalypse easily win by putting everyone to sleep. Nate Grey is more powerful than Professor X in X-Men of Apocalypse #1. Nate gets the information for Forge out of Professor X's mind.

The X-Men of Apocalypse travel back in time to the start of the college for mutants and we see the original X-Men. I am unclear what they are doing there though. There will be another comic book in this series. In fact near the end of X-Men of Apocalypse #1 there is a page devoted to the next issue. I am trying to decide if I want to spend that much money on just twenty pages of comic book content.

The art is decent in X-Men of Apocalypse #1. There are heroes from both sides that realize the other one is different. There is a bit about the diverging timelines in X-Men of Apocalypse #1. Ultimately The X-Men of Apocalypse should not even exist. They are fighting for their survival. There are mainline versions of themselves in the mainline timeline though. I figure this franchise will not go on much longer. I looked it up and there will be six issues.
