The Wayfinders Season One
SCORE: 83
I continue my exploration of Angel Studios with The Wayfinders Season
One. This is an interesting television show. There are six episodes that
last between fifty-one and fifty-five minutes. The intro theme song to
The Wayfinders Season One is fantastic. I went looking to find someone
to purchase a copy of that song but I could not find it anywhere. Angel
Studios is missing a marketing opportunity there.
The issues families can have with The Wayfinders Season One are
violence, blood, magic, and more. There is plenty of humor within The
Wayfinders Season One. Expect spoilers for the rest of this review.
There are two different worlds that are connected. There is our modern
day world and this medieval world with dragons, orcs, dwarves, elves,
and more. Zaya is a seeress that can see different futures. Zaya gives
people notes on what to do.
Zaya sends Flynn Griffin (a gamer), Oaklee Jones (genius lone wolf), and
Cash Calloway ( jock and top student) to her world. They are The
Wayfinders. Flynn is to become a master thief and leader. Oaklee is to
become a powerful sorceress. Cash is to become a powerful warrior. They
meet Kavan - a werebear, Aurora - a princess, and Calibor - an expert
thief. The bad guy is Vedric in The Wayfinders Season One.
Back in our world the police and parents are trying to find where the
teenagers vanished to. Flynn's brother Darryl gets mixed up with Zaya in
The Wayfinders Season One. There is this magical artifact The Skull of
Mardukh in The Wayfinders Season One. It is the skull of a powerful
wizard in the past. If Vedric gets ahold of it then both worlds will be
completely destroyed.
The Void Key is another interesting item in The Wayfinders Season One.
This is what allows people to traverse from one world to the other one.
Maro is the power source for the Void Key. Maro is also what powers
magic in The Wayfinders Season One. This power source is valuable and in
short supply in many areas in The Wayfinders Season One. The human world
does not even seem to have it.
The Wayfinders Season One ends with a cliffhanger, and also feels like
part of a season and not a whole one. I love how motives of different
characters are challenged in The Wayfinders Season One. There is even a
moment when the teenagers think they are not The Wayfinders after all.
That lead to a bit of a disaster. I really enjoyed this show. I hope
there is a physical copy of The Wayfinders Season One at some point in
the near future.
