The Muppets Noir #1

I saw an advertisement for The Muppets Noir #1 in another comic book and decided to order some of them to read. I have at least one more either in my pile or being delivered at some future date. This comic book cost me $4.99. There are twenty-two pages of comic book content within The Muppets Noir #1. There is a page devoted to the next issue and some advertisements within The Muppets Noir #1 as well.

The credits can be found on the back of the front cover of The Muppets Noir #1 comic book. There is a bit of humor within The Muppets Noir #1. This is honestly one of the oddest comic books I have ready in quite some time. I will include spoilers in my review from this point forward. The Muppets Noir #1 starts with Kermit trying to run one of their shows. Kermit needs an idea for a new show and thus far has nothing.

Different problems happen that stress Kermit out in The Muppets Noir #1. Kermit goes to read a bit and rest while Scooter takes care of things. While these characters are practicing throwing bricks one of them hits Kermit in the head and knocks him out cold. From there we go into a dream Kermit is having. Kermit dreams he is a private detective Flip Minnow. Flip has a major problem with pie.

Flip is hired to find Meringue. She looks just like Miss Piggy. Flip is on the case trying to find her based on the leads he discovers in The Muppets Noir #1. There are other Muppet characters in The Muppets Noir #1 that are in different roles in Kermit's dream. Flip starts out at the morgue to make sure she is not dead. There is plenty of humor in The Muppets Noir #1. I am not a fan of the art in The Muppets Noir #1.

The running gag is these different characters look like Miss Piggy in The Muppets Noir #1. Flip knows he will know her but does not recognize any of them. The Muppets Noir #1 ends with Flip not finding Miss Piggy yet. The mystery will continue. In some ways I like The Muppets Noir #1. In other ways this is a really odd series. I plan on reading this series from the start to the finish.
