The End 2099 #1

The End 2099 #1

When I first head about The End 2099 #1 I was immediately intrigued. The end of the 2099 Marvel Universe. How would they do that? The End 2099 #1 cost me $4.99. There are twenty-five pages of comic book content within The End 2099 #1. Advertisements can be found throughout this comic book. There is an intro/credits page near the beginning. There is a page devoted to the next issue in the series near the end.

The issues families can have with The End 2099 #1 are violence, blood, false gods, and more. The End 2099 #1 introduces to me to a lot of characters I did not know about. Before I forget - spoilers are in the rest of this review. Dracula got remade into a herald for Abyssus. The planet IODA is utterly destroyed in The End 2099 #1. Abyssus devoured body and soul. There is a character not too keen on this.

Silver Surfer goes to Memphisto in The End 2099 #1. Mephisto runs hell in the Marvel Universe. The souls are being stolen from Mephisto so he has a reason to oppose Abyssus in The End 2099 #1. Abyssus goes to devour another planet and Memphisto burns the planet down to just rocks. Nothing for Abyssus to eat on that planet anymore.

Memphisto throws out the idea of the two of them having champions fight for them in The End 2099 #1. Abyssus is wary of the tricks of this devil, but agrees to the terms. Memphisto gets heroes from his area and Abyssus grabs them from the multiverse. Yes that religious belief concept is in The End 2099 #1 Spider-Man 2099 is trying to talk the heroes into attacking both the bad characters and not fighting for them.

Sadly the words of Spider-Man 2099 in The End 2099 #1 fall on deaf ears. In fact Spider-Man 3099 attacks Spider-Man 2099 at the end of The End 2099 #1. This comic book has a Secret Wars kind of feel to it. Maybe that is just me though. There are plenty of interesting heroes in The End 2099 #1. I plan on reading the rest of this series.
