The Christ #11
SCORE: 85
I start writing this review with some mixed emotions. I am so excited
about where this franchise is going. At the same time I am a bit on the
sad side. The Christ #11 cost me $3.99. There are thirty-two pages of
comic book content within The Christ #11. The art continues to be
fantastic and the quality of the paper is amazing. There are Bible
verses on the bottoms of most of the pages within The Christ #11.
There will be spoilers in my review of The Christ #11 comic book. There
is some violence and blood within The Christ #11. I am actually happily
surprised at how much of that is kept out of the content of this comic
book. For example we see someone striking but not the actually impact of
the hit. The Christ #11 takes us through the betrayal in the garden, all
the way up to Jesus Christ on the cross.
Communion is covered within The Christ #11. Praying in the garden is
also shown in The Christ #11. I chuckled at how the disciples kept
falling asleep while Jesus was praying in The Christ #11. I completely
understand. Jesus is questioned by the Jewish leaders of the day in The
Christ #11. Peter denies Jesus three times in The Christ #11. Even
though Peter said there was no way he would do that.
Pilate wants nothing to do with sentencing Jesus to death in The Christ
#11. Pilate tries every single trick he can to keep Jesus alive. The
answers Jesus provides are amazing in The Christ #11. King Herod also
gets to meet Jesus in The Christ #11. The funny thing is Herod is not
very impressed and Jesus does not even try to defend himself. The lack
of defense really confuses some of the rulers in The Christ #11.
I love how Jesus explains the only authority any human has on Earth is
because it is allowed from above. God could come down and strike down
any wicked leader at any time. This is a great lesson for the rest of us
to remember. Too many get big heads because they have some position of
authority. I would rather be aligned with God than to be aligned with
man in any way, shape or form. One more issue to go in this series.
