The Beginning

After I read this comic book I feel like there was an opportunity lost. Any idea what that opportunity was? I feel like this comic book should have been named In The Beginning. That will make sense in a little bit. This comic book was on sale and cost me $2.00. There are thirty-two pages of comic book content in The Beginning. Marvel and DC will sell a comic book for $5.99 or higher and contain two less pages.

The credits can be found on the back of the front cover of The Beginning comic book. The Beginning takes us through Genesis 1 through Genesis 6:8. Bible verses are on the bottom of the page of this comic book. I will include spoilers in the rest of this review of The Beginning comic book. The issues families could have with The Beginning are violence, blood, lack of attire, and more. I noticed how tastefully things were done in The Beginning.

God created the heavens and the Earth. This is shown with some fantastic art in The Beginning. We see Adam being created in The Beginning. We see Eve being created in The Beginning. The serpent comes and tricks Eve into eating the fruit. Adam follows his wife in the sin of eating that fruit. Their eyes are opened and they realize a great many things they did not realize before. They know they are naked, and they are ashamed. They feel guilt for their sin.

The Beginning takes us through the issues and problems with Cain and Abel. Jealousy causes one brother to kill the other one. The Beginning educates us to our focus and making sure we are in alignment with God. We learn a bit about Enoch in The Beginning as well. Adam and Eve also had another son Seth in The Beginning. Seth lineage becomes very important down the line after The Beginning.

To me a lot of The Beginning is regret. Mistakes were made, and people suffer because of the sin that Adam and Eve brought to us. People do worse and worse things from that point on. We have people doing horrible things in this dark day and age. All of it traces back to that one mistake. Eve listened to the serpent. Adam went along with what his wife wanted. There were opportunities to avoid all of this. We must live with it.
