It was my movie night pick recently and I chose to watch Superman.
This movie is one hundred and twenty-nine minutes long. I know people
associated with this film made some controversial and highly divisive
statements. There has been plenty of controversy surrounding Superman.
Noah and I did go and watch Superman at our local movie theater when it
was out. I gave initial reactions back then. I have some new ones now.
The issues families can have with Superman are violence, blood, bad
language, false gods, lack of attire, enticement to lust, and more.
There will be spoilers in my review of the Superman movie on DVD. There
are a couple of Superman related bonus features on this disc as well. I
purchased Superman on Black Friday 2025. The beginning of Superman
really set the tone and the entire universe reboot.
I did not understand why Ultraman was so powerful in Superman when
seeing it at first in the theaters. Watching Superman at home I
remembered why. The same thing for how Lex got into the Fortress of
Solitude. Jimmy is quite the ladies man in Superman. Guy Gardner Green
Lantern, Hawkgirl and Mr. Terrific are interesting choices for heroes in
Superman. Metamorpho makes perfect sense in Superman.
Lex Luthor is shown as really petty in Superman. Lex has quite a few
plans in Superman that work really well. His girlfriend is his major
downfall in Superman though. The parents of Kal-el actually sent him to
rule over humans in Superman. That was a bit of a shock. Superman does
not want to do that. Superman injects himself in world politics and
stops one country from invading another one. The ethical questions of
that are discussed.
I find it interesting in Superman that Clark would interview Superman.
Lois brings up the ethics of that as well. Krypto really steals the show
in Superman. I love how Krypto goes and gets the "toys" that help
Superman near the end of the movie. He also did the same thing to the
T-Spheres that did not make Mr. Terrific very happy. There is plenty of
action within Superman. There are also comments about aliens being bad
and not having any rights in Superman.
