Superman #879

From time to time I ask myself why I am still reading a certain series. That is happening with Superman #879. I wanted to see what would happen after DC KO. Superman #879 decided to bring us some issues with Superboy Prime. This comic book cost me $4.99. There are twenty-two pages of comic book content in Superman #879. The credits are found on page three of this comic book with art as well.

The issues families can have with Superman #879 are violence, bad language, false gods, and more. Advertisements can be found throughout the Superman #879 comic book. I will include spoilers in the remainder of this review. Superman #879 has the reboot numbering system of Superman #36. I wonder how much longer they will go before rebooting this series yet again. There are two Welcome to Metropolis pages. There is also a DC Nation Spotlight on Supergirl.

The storyline that Superman #879 begins is Reign of the Superboys. The interesting thing is there is only one Superboy in Superman #879. That is Superboy Prime. He comes from another universe where he read all about the heroes of this one in comic books. Lois lost her powers again in Superman #879. Mr. Terrific and others have some apprehensions about Superboy Prime after his previous villainous past.

Booster Gold is heading up the search for Superman, and I hope that is somewhere in one of these comic books. I really enjoy Booster Gold. Lois is helping Superboy Prime settle in on their Earth. She convinces him to get a job, an apartment and do what Superman would do. Superboy Prime fights a villain that thinks he can have his way in Metropolis with no Superman around. Superboy Prime takes him down and has a horrible flash of killing this character. Thankfully he does not act on his flash.

Superboy Prime gets a job at a comic book store, and gets an apartment. He wants to read comic books and chill but someone needs his help. The ending of Superman #879 is Manchester Black shows up and he wants to play with this new Superman. Manchester Black almost looks like a ghost in Superman #879 to me. I will read a few more and see where this series is going. I may drop it soon. I will see.
