Speed Racer #7

Speed Racer #7

I had a feeling and a suspicion where Speed Racer #7 would take us. I did not know if the writers planned on drawing the story out longer or not. The Speed Racer #7 comic book cost me $4.99. There are twenty-four pages of comic book coverage within Speed Racer #7. The credits are on the back of the front cover and on page three with some art. There is a page devoted to the next issue near the end of Speed Racer #7.

There are three pages of a preview of Planet Atmos Exordium #1 in Speed Racer #7. I do not plan on purchasing that content. The issues families can have with Speed Racer #7 are violence, blood, and more. I make this solemn vow that the rest of this review will include spoilers. Carl Cranem is taking his victory lap in Speed Racer #7. He promises he will destroy Speed Racer if they ever race again.

Speed and Pops Racer are arguing about the path to take forward. So they make a bet. If Pops can beat Speed then Speed must listen and make Pops his brand new crew chief. Pops Racer wins by drafting and the sling-shotting himself around at the end of the race. Speed learns a new technique in Speed Racer #7. He learns how to do the slingshot draft maneuver. Readers are treated to some history of this universe in the form of Rock Force.

Speed Racer goes to see Carl Cranem in Speed Racer #7. Speed actually feels bad for Carl. After all Speed still has his dad and Carl does not. The two of them race and Speed Racer shows that he did learn a thing or two since the last race. Speed Racer avoids the major attack from Carl and drafts behind him. Carl pushes the engine harder and harder.

Speed must endure some nasty heat in Speed Racer #7 while he is drafting. Carl pushes his machine too far and it winds up exploding. Thankfully Speed Racer did the slingshot just in time in Speed Racer #7. Speed Racer wins and then runs out over to Carl to pull him from the vehicle. Sadly it is too late for Carl Cranem in Speed Racer #7. He dies on the track. There are some touching moments near the end of Speed Racer #7.
