I am exceedingly thankful we had the money to purchase some more
Christian comic books of the Holy Bible. Solomon is the next one to step
up to plate and swing for the fences. This comic book cost me $2.00.
There are thirty pages of comic book content within Solomon. The credits
for Solomon are on the back of the front cover. There is some violence
and blood within Solomon. There are also some more adult situations
discussed.
I admit there will be spoilers in this review from this point onward.
David is older and sickly. A young maiden is laying with him to try and
keep him warm. The wise men are doing what they can to keep David
comfortable in his last days in Solomon. Adonijah is the oldest living
son so we takes on the role of being the king in Solomon. Bathsheba runs
to King David's bed with the prophet Nathan and ask him if he put
Adonijah on the throne.
There is a reference in Solomon to a promise to Bathsheba that her son
would be the king. David makes a decree in Solomon that his son Solomon
will be king. Adonijah is afraid for his life, but Solomon shows him
mercy. Solomon asks God for wisdom in Solomon. Two prostitutes come to
King Solomon with a problem, and his solution in ingenious. World
leaders come to learn from King Solomon in this comic book.
There are a few men that David did not kill in his reign in Solomon. He
tasks Solomon with taking care of them. One is killed right there and
another is put on house arrest. Years later this man leaves to chase
down a runaway slave. He winds up dying for it in Solomon. There is a
very important theme in Solomon. That theme is to obey and follow God.
Solomon builds the temple and the people rejoice.
Solomon also makes some mistakes in this comic book. He marries all of
these foreign women and winds up following their false gods. This angers
God in Solomon. The kingdom is split in two right before Solomon dies in
this comic book. The son of Solomon will be a complete disaster.
Hopefully that is in the next comic book. Solomon was so wise yet it did
not save him from making major mistakes in his life.
