Smart Girl’s Playhouse

I am extremely thankful I had the money to purchase a copy of the Smart Girl’s Playhouse video game on the Nintendo DS. I did not know what exactly to expect from this hand held video game. Smart Girl’s Playhouse is definitely a kids video game. I also believe that Smart Girl’s Playhouse is for the female side of the family. I cannot imagine many males interested or excited about Smart Girl’s Playhouse.

There are twelve mini games on the Smart Girl’s Playhouse cartridge. The games on Smart Girl’s Playhouse are Coloring, Match Sounds, Puzzle, Lunch Box, Picture Match, Play Piano, Find Differences, Drawing, Feed Hamsters, Dress Up, Counting, and Play Instruments. Dress Up is the only mini game in Smart Girl’s Playhouse that really targets girls.

The music in Smart Girl’s Playhouse is happy and fun. The graphics are not that great in Smart Girl’s Playhouse. The graphics are very family friendly though. There are some light animations after the mini games are completed. For example after drawing the cat and tapping the done button the cat would move around a little bit. It was neat and noticeable. The little girl main character will celebrate as well.

Feed Hamsters is really a whack-a-mole kind of a game. Girls can record what they play on the piano if they want to in Smart Girl’s Playhouse. Picture Match is a memory game. Match Sounds is a Simon Says kind of a game. Drawing is a free style drawing tool. I actually liked the Coloring one better personally. Too bad those two were not combined somehow.

Counting was kind of neat. A card would show at the top of the screen. Multiple cards would appear on the bottom of the screen. Players will then pick the right number that matches. Find Differences is exactly like it sounds. The mini games in Smart Girl’s Playhouse are pretty bare bones and easier for children to play. Kids can have fun with Smart Girl’s Playhouse for a few days to maybe weeks.
