Roadcraft

There are some games that I really love playing. At the same time there can be some very painful elements to those games. I love the concept and the idea behind Roadcraft. We are coming into an area that suffered from a natural disaster. We are repairing all kinds of things like roads and bridges. I love completing the different missions within Roadcraft. I live streamed this video game for fifteen episodes.

The downsides to Roadcraft are getting vehicles stuck. I got my vehicles stuck way too often in Roadcraft. I hated having to get another vehicle to pull something out of the mud. That gets old really fast. I also felt like some of the missions took way too long in Roadcraft. I loved how quickly a vehicle will fill back up when I was filling in something in Roadcraft. That shortcut was very handy in Roadcraft.

My dad reminded me that Roadcraft is not the first time I had issues with getting stuck all the time. Snowrunner is another game from the same company where I had the same issues. They seem to really like to throw that in there. I wonder if they are trying to irritate and annoy us or if they want to amplify how often these vehicles can get stuck. I would think laying gravel would help the situation a bit more. Or maybe wait for better weather to start repairs.

That last sentence really made me think. We would not try to build a skyscraper when there is a thunder storm. So maybe Roadcraft needed a bit of common sense there. Or maybe we need better weather in the game. Roadcraft looks really good and it sounds nice. There are verbal and written directions in Roadcraft.

There is some good replay value in Roadcraft if you want to do all of the different missions. For me it came down to the two major issues I referenced. I got sick and tired of vehicles getting stuck way too often. I got tired of how long the missions can take. I feel like there is a real intelligent design to how we repair things in Roadcraft. My opinion is this company needs to think about the gameplay experience. Give us a no vehicle can get stuck mode.
