Mask #2

There are some things a franchise cannot recover from. The whole go woke go broke is one of those things. I wonder if this franchise has decided to go woke. The Mask #2 comic book cost me $3.99. There are twenty pages of comic book content within Mask #2. The credits for Mask #2 are on the inside front cover of this comic book. There is an editor's desk page with some artwork in Mask #2. There are some advertisements in the back of this comic book.

Mask #2 contains a character spotlight page with multiple characters on it. The back cover of Mask #2 contains the cover gallery. The issues families can have with Mask #2 are violence, bad language, and more. Expect spoilers for the rest of this review. The controversial and highly divisive decision to race swap Matt Trakker continues in Mask #2. It is like once they decide to be this offensive they stick with it. The only time they have any backbone is when they continue to offend.

Mask #2 introduces us to Gloria Baker and Bruce Sato. They go on a mission to find the alien artifact that V.E.N.O.M. recovered in the last issue. There was a small problem with transporting this alien artifact in Mask #2 though. It gets dropped into the ocean and the wormhole turns on. That means the ocean is losing water. This water is being teleported to some other location/planet/universe/wherever.

The vehicle Gloria is in is called the Shark. It can go underwater. Gloria and Sato go underwater to find the wormhole. They are attacked by a V.E.N.O.M. agent in Mask #2. Torpedoes are being used as weapons against one another in Mask #2. Gloria gets knocked out so Sato must launch a missile at the wormhole in Mask #2. The attack hits and shuts down the wormhole. They are then propelled back to the surface waiting for Matt Trakker to arrive.

The main bad guy shows up instead at the end of Mask #2. He launches missiles at their vehicle floating at the top of the ocean. There is a giant explosion to end the Mask #2 comic book. I suspect the two of them jumped into the water just in time to avoid the missile attack at the end of Mask #2. I will keep reading to find out for certain. I am still not impressed with this franchise.
