Imagine Rock Star

It was a joy and a pleasure for me to play Imagine Rock Star on the Nintendo DS. I know there were all of these Imagine video games back in the day. We covered quite a few of them. A few fell through the cracks here and there. Of course we do not accept full blame since the video game publisher could have mailed us a copy and they could have advertised this video game in our magazine and/or on the website. I guess they thought they would make more sales by not providing us a copy of this game.

There are ten instrumental songs within Imagine Rock Star. There are four stories families can play through in Imagine Rock Star. We can play Imagine Rock Star on easy, normal or hard difficulty. Families can pick the lead character, keyboard, bass or drum. The odd thing about Imagine Rock Star is we must take on the role of a female character. Why aren't there male characters to play in Imagine Rock Star? This game ignores a huge portion of the gaming population.

Girls that play Imagine Rock Star can choose to play Pop, Rock or Funk. Girls that play Imagine Rock Star can play the story or quick play. The odd thing is we must use one of the saves to play either story or quick play. I get it with the story mode, but quick play does not make much sense to me personally. There is a world where we can pick different locations to go to in Imagine Rock Star.

Girls can adjust the outfits, make up, instruments and memories in Imagine Rock Star. The controls in Imagine Rock Star are a bit different than many musical based video games I have played in my life. There is a bar at the top of the screen. The icon moves from the right to the left until it reaches the zone. There are three colors on the bottom of the screen. When the icon hits the zone, then the girl playing must swipe up on the right color.

The grading in Imagine Rock Star is not that great in my opinion. I would swipe up at the right time but did not always get a high score for that. It is almost like we need to anticipate, start swiping, and finish when it reaches the icon. I wish Imagine Rock Star had been more intelligent in having boy and girl musicians. Girls in the family may get into Imagine Rock Star.
