Gargoyles Vol 4 #1

I discovered recently that yet another Gargoyles comic book series was starting up. Thanks to that new comic book store we use I know which volume this comic book belongs to. Gargoyles Vol 4 #1 cost me $4.99 to purchase. There are twenty-five pages of comic book content within Gargoyles Vol 4 #1. The credits for Gargoyles Vol 4 #1 are on pages four and five with plenty of art. It is done a neat way in the middle of the pages going from left to right.

There is some peril within Gargoyles Vol 4 #1. There is a page devoted to the next issue after the comic book content. Then Gargoyles Vol 4 #1 contains some advertisements and the cover gallery pages. The art is fantastic in Gargoyles Vol 4 #1. I will include spoilers for the rest of this review. Most of Gargoyles Vol 4 #1 is a build up and a recap to what has been happening. Demona stole the egg of the Gargoyles and they want it back.

There is also a standard superhero kind of a thing going on in Gargoyles Vol 4 #1. There is an accident and this tram with people on it is about to fall into the river. The Gargoyles must fly to the rescue. Yes I do mean that literally. The Gargoyles fly in and help people to safety of the bridge or the land I am not quite sure which. What matters is the people are being flown to safety in Gargoyles Vol 4 #1.

There are two Gargoyles that are trying to find Demona. Goliath injures himself a little bit holding the cables together after they snap in half near the end of Gargoyles Vol 4 #1. The other Gargoyles get the rest of the people out. There is even a famous criminal in Gargoyles Vol 4 #1 that does not want to come down. He is eventually convinced to come down and be saved. Other people did not know he was a gangster.

I love how the people cheer the Gargoyles in Gargoyles Vol 4 #1. Along with this saving the people on the tram story we get another one woven throughout Gargoyles Vol 4 #1. This other one is where Goliath is being interviewed about his clan and their history. For me this is just more of the recap that I already know from reading the other comic books in this series. New readers will find it more interesting.
