Exodus
SCORE: 81
Another Christian comic book that I was able to purchase for two
dollars was Exodus. This comic book picks up right where Moses left off.
There are thirty-six pages of comic book content within Exodus. The art
is crisp, clean and clear in Exodus. There is some violent content,
false gods, and more within Exodus. The people complain so much in
Exodus. This is after witnessing miracle after miracle from God.
I will include spoilers in my review of the Exodus comic book. Pharaoh
sends troops after the Israelites in Exodus. God sends his angel that
had been a pillar of fire and smoke from the front to the back. God then
clears the way through the Red Sea for His people. They walk across dry
land and once they are across the angel of fire moves so the Egyptian
army could follow them. As the Egyptian army tries to cross, God lets
the water go back in. They all drowned.
The people complained about water being bitter so Moses consults God and
faithfully obeys. The water is sweet. The people complain about needing
food and God provides them mana. Again Moses goes to God with each
problem. Again they need water and God instructs Moses to strike a rock.
They have water yet again.
The Amalekites attack and as long as Moses can hold his rod up the
Israelites are able to win. Moses needs help keeping the rod held high
and others help him. Moses gets to see his family again in Exodus. His
father in law notices the burden on Moses and gives his wise advise to
make some judges for the people. Then we get to Mount Sinai in Exodus.
This is where things will get very interesting indeed.
The Ten Commandments and the golden calf are major parts of the story in
Exodus at this point. Moses is getting a bit exasperated with the people
in Exodus too. Some of the people die for their sins in Exodus. Fire
comes down and kills some others after more complaining. The people want
meat and God provides for them. Exodus really shows me that complaining
is something that bothers God.
