Donald Duck #391
SCORE: 76
I may have missed an issue of this series. Honestly it does not
matter since there is no cohesive storyline between the issues. In fact
these are reprints from Italy. I am also on the fence for this franchise
and the Uncle Scrooge one. I like how Donald Duck #391 give us some
content from another country that we never received before. The price of
Donald Duck #391 is $5.99. There are forty pages of comic book content
within Donald Duck #391.
The renumbering system shows Donald Duck #391 to be Donald Duck #3. The
cross talk page in Donald Duck #391 is the same as in the Uncle Scrooge
comic book. There are two main stories in Donald Duck #391. The first
story Call of the Wild Sea is twenty-four pages. The second story is
Two-Bit Tycoons. The second story is sixteen pages. The second story is
also split into two parts. I counted the two parts as one in my page
calculation. The credits are in the back of this comic book.
I will include spoilers for the rest of this review. Donald Duck is
having these nightmares of a giant wave crushing him in Donald Duck
#391. So Donald goes to the shrink who decides this sailor must have
some problem with the sea. Donald goes to Captain Windblower for a
metal. Donald must go through all of these challenges to prove he loves
the sea. Donald fails again and again in Donald Duck #391.
Donald is supposed to turn in his sailor suit and hat to Captain
Windblower in Donald Duck #391. Donald refuses because he knows who he
is. Donald receives a medal, and still has the dream. The true cause of
his nightmares is his job of cleaning the money for Uncle Scrooge.
Donald finds fun things to do on his break like use a row boat in the
money bin in Donald Duck #391. Donald is all fixed.
The second story in Donald Duck #391 is about a competition between
Scrooge and Glomgold. They freeze their assets so an accountant can
determine who has the most money. Glomgold comes out on top, but Scrooge
has an IOU. They have forty-eight hours to collect on the IOU. Scrooge
loses out on a competition to get his money. The nephews find the
original note with the IOU, and on the backside Glomgold owes this lady
money. Scrooge wins in the end. Not much to do with Donald in that one.
