Dog Man
SCORE: 85
If you watch our FFG Haul livestreams then you know Dog Man was one
of the movies purchased during November 2025. I expected to get to Dog
Man at some point. It was not high on my priority listing. Then I wound
up live streaming Disney Dreamlight Valley a bit long on a Friday night
and needed a shorter movie to watch. I pivoted from my original plan to
watch Dog Man. This movie is one hour and twenty-nine minutes long.
There will be spoilers in this review.
We did a FFG Reacts to the trailer of Dog Man. I had some idea what this
movie was about. A police officer and his dog get into a horrible
accident. The head of the man is messed up, and the body of the dog is
messed up. So they put the dog's head on the man's body. That way he is
now Dog Man. I know you need to suspend any belief in reality to accept
the premise of this movie. There are also some corny and campy things in
Dog Man.
The big thing to understand about Dog Man is this is for the younger
members of the family. Teenagers and adults will most likely not get
into Dog Man. I understand that. I also like to give entertainment a
chance. Dog Man was very cringe worthy at first. The more I watched Dog
Man the more I got into it. There is this evil cat Petey. Dog Man
arrests Petey again and again in Dog Man. Petey keeps escaping from cat
jail in this animated movie.
The mayor gets mad at the chief of police and Dog Man over this. The
brother of the mayor runs the cat jail so she can't blame him. Dog Man
gets taken off the case. This evil fish Flippy comes back to life and
winds up getting involved with Petey. Dog Man is given the Flippy case
which connects to the Petey case. No harm no foul since Dog Man is going
after Flippy if he also catches Petey.
Petey decides he needs a clone of himself. He buys the machine and it
produces a very young version of himself. We learn a lot about Petey
through this. Flippy winds up kidnapping the Petey jr. clone and that
makes Petey and Dog Man work together. We see Petey being much more good
at the end of Dog Man. I really liked that redemption arc in Dog Man.
There is plenty of humor in this movie too. Dog Man contains some crude
humor and some animated violence.
