I was having a really rotten day with all kinds of problems and
challenges. The light that shown the way for the rest of the day turned
out to be David Volume 2 The King. This comic book cost me $2.00. There
are thirty-one pages of comic book content within David Volume 2 The
King. The credits can be found on the back of the front cover.
There is a page in the back of David Volume 2 The King about lessons
from King Saul. There is some violence and blood within this comic book.
It is thankfully pretty light. I will include spoilers for the rest of
this review. David is growing in prominence and power in David Volume 2
The King. Saul is getting jealous. Bible verses are on the bottom of the
pages of this comic book.
Saul is jealous of what the people cry out to David. Saul has killed his
thousands and David his tens of thousands. Saul tries to get David as
his son-in-law in David Volume 2 The King. Saul tries to kill David
multiple times within David Volume 2 The King. God protects David from
these spear attacks. David does marry one of the daughters of Saul -
Michal.
The friendship of Jonathan and David is covered quite well in David
Volume 2 The King. Saul even gets really mad at Jonathan in David Volume
2 The King. David escapes and runs with his men. A foreign king wants to
see David, but David pretends to be raving mad. I got a little chuckle
out of that personally. It is an interesting strategy.
David helps out his people and Saul uses it as a chance to get at David.
God protects David again. David has an opportunity to kill Saul but
refuses. David even lets Saul know of this missed opportunity. Saul is
shamed and leaves. I know the Holy Bible and know this happens more than
once as well. Probably in the next volume.
