I feel like I am getting somewhere with these Bible comic
books. David Volume 1 The Shepherd contains the wonderful segway from
the Holy Bible when Israel went from prophet leadership to kings. This
comic book cost me $2.00. There are thirty-two pages of comic book
content within David Volume 1 The Shepherd. The credits can be found on
the back of the front cover of this comic book.
Bible verses can be found on the bottom of the pages of the David Volume
1 The Shepherd comic book. There are other volumes related to David. I
am excited to read them when I get the financial resource and time. I
will include spoilers for the rest of this review. David Volume 1 The
Shepherd starts with a nice recap of what has been happening since
Moses.
We learn all about Samuel in David Volume 1 The Shepherd. Sadly the
children of Samuel were corrupt and the people did not trust them. The
people wanted a king and that grieved Samuel greatly. Samuel anointed
Saul as the first king of Israel. I have wondered about this since Saul
turned out to be a very bad choice. Saul disobeyed God again and again.
Saul feared the people more.
Samuel then goes and anoints David as the next king of Israel. The
Philistines are a problem for the Israelites in David Volume 1 The
Shepherd. Saul’s son Jonathan is a hero in David Volume 1 The Shepherd
at one point. Jonathan brought great victory to Israel and also
disobeyed his father. Although he had not been told of the rule. The
people saved Jonathan.
Goliath makes an appearance in David Volume 1 The Shepherd. Here is
where we get some violence and blood in David Volume 1 The Shepherd. If
you know the story then you know David defeats Goliath in David Volume 1
The Shepherd. The people celebrate David for this great victory. David
of course gives all glory to God for this achievement.
