DC KO #4
SCORE: 65
At this point in the storyline and storytelling I wonder if my
initial thoughts of not reading this comic book series was the right
idea. After reading DC KO #4 I am wondering why I even bothered to read
this series. There are some interesting things here and there, but
ultimately DC KO #4 was a big disappointment to me. This comic book cost
me $5.99. There are only thirty pages of comic book content within DC KO
#4.
The issues families can have with DC KO #4 are violence, blood, false
gods, and more. Some of the advertisements in the back of DC KO #4
contain lack of attire, and enticement to lust. There is a page devoted
to the next issue, and a two page bracket showing who all own and lost
in this series thus far. There is a DC Nation Spotlight page on what is
next for the entire DC Universe. Certain characters and series will be
rebooted.
There will be spoilers in the rest of this review of the DC KO #4 comic
book. The final four characters must fight alternate versions of
themselves. Well technically only Superman, Batman and Wonder Woman.
These are Darkseid versions of the three characters. Booster Gold is
also there in DC KO #4. Booster Gold is being completely controlled by
Darkseid in DC KO #4. There is a bit of a shock in DC KO #4 as well.
The thing I found most shocking is the Joker decides to change sides and
join the Darkseid villains. That makes it four on three the other
direction. Superman takes down Booster Gold and frees the three heroes.
The Joker also gets taken down in DC KO #4. There was a bit of a twist
and a shock there as well. The Joker gets taken down by the normal
Batman. How? Batman appears back in the tournament. He had a Mother Box
connected to his heart to teleport him to safety.
It is interesting that Batman takes down the Joker after it looked like
the Joker took him down earlier. Darkseid leaves Booster Gold, and Lex
Luthor attacks Superman from behind in DC KO #4. Lex Luthor is the
winner of the tournament. Lex will need to face off against Darkseid
next. There is some behind the scenes on how the three heroes in DC KO
#4 were turned to the side of Darkseid. This provides some great
context.
