Marvel decided to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Civil War
storyline with some new and additional stories from that era. These are
all related to the main Civil War storyline. Civil War Unmasked #1 cost
me $4.99. There are twenty-five pages of comic book content within Civil
War Unmasked #1. There is an intro and credits page in this comic book
right at the beginning.
There is some violence, lack of attire, and enticement to lust issues
with Civil War Unmasked #1. There are two editor related pages within
Civil War Unmasked #1 that relate to this within this comic book. I give
you my word that the rest of this review will include spoilers. Tony
Stark aka Iron Man is talking to Emma Frost about the mutants joining
his side.
There are only 198 mutants left on the planet. Emma cares more about
survival than the Superhuman Registration Act. The disaster that led to
this piece of legislation is covered in Civil War Unmasked #1. Emma
Frost decides to stay out of the fight. The mutants will stay on the
sidelines. Bishop approaches Iron Man to show him something.
Iron Man fixes Bishop’s time travel device and they go to this alternate
future. Tony sees how bad things are for everyone. Nimrod attacks the
pair and must be fought off. Nimrod is tricked into going through the
portal. Bishop sent Nimrod to the distant past where volcanos were going
off all the time. This should destroy Nimrod. Tony and Bishop return to
their time.
Tony goes and talks to the President to find out that the plan that set
off the horrible future is being considered by the leaders if the
Superhuman Registration Act fails. Tony has all kinds of motive to make
sure his side wind up winning. If they fail a worse future and a worse
fate awaits all of them. Civil War Unmasked #1 does a good job of
explaining Tony’s motivations.
