Capes #1
SCORE: 63
I saw Capes #1 at our local comic book store and decided to check it
out. I know Capes #1 is from the Invincible Universe. I was immediately
concerned. I noticed the rating is thirteen and older and decided to
give it a chance. Capes #1 cost me $3.99. There are twenty-two pages of
comic book content within Capes #1. The issues families can have with
Capes #1 are violence, bad language, false gods, lack of attire,
enticement to lust, sexual content and more.
There is an editor's desk after the comic book content within Capes #1.
The credits are on the back of the front cover. The back cover of the
Capes #1 contains the cover gallery. There is a page devoted to the next
issue, and advertisements near the back of the Capes #1 comic book.
There is humor within Capes #1 as well. I was not expecting that. There
will be spoilers in the rest of this review of the Capes #1 comic book.
Bolt works for Capes Incorporated in Capes #1. They are this company
that hires super heroes to go on patrol and stop the bad guys. Bolt is
on his way to work and runs into a villain named Medallion. Bolt then
winds up getting to work late and runs into Commander Capitalism. Bolt
must fill out forms for the hour he worked outside of normal work hours.
This sounds like so many companies I have worked for.
Bolt meets the new guy Kid Thor and takes him around to see everyone.
Captain Cosmic comes back and that causes a huge stir. The heroes
thought Captain Cosmic was dead for over fifteen years. Bolt and Kid
Thor go on patrol when Machine Head and Titan fighting destroy their
car. The heroes take out the villains and just need a containment crew
to show up to take the villains away in Capes #1.
The heroes are briefed on Chronodile. Since Captain Cosmic showed up
they figure Chronodile will as well at some point. There is an offensive
sexual deviant scene that was not needed in Capes #1. Some villain
escapes from jail, and Bolt and Commander Capitalism are watching the
television set. They decided it is a job for the night crew. They should
do some work after all. There is a conversation about how Bolt should
not have to do the dishes after being a hero during the day.
