Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon
SCORE: 73
You know a game is a problem when I am struggling to get an hour out
of it. That is what happened with Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon. I will
get into what my issues were with Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon in just a
little bit. This is an action adventure puzzle video game where we must
get to the exit. Unless we are fighting the end boss of an area. We must
take them out. Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon looks okay.
The music in Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon is pleasant enough to listen
to. The first thing for players is the training. I ran into issues
getting through the training levels. There are some directions that were
not explained very well in Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon. There are
aspects of Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon that make little to no sense to
me. I finally figured out how to get through the training and into the
first dungeon.
Players are expected to make it through all ten levels in Bubble Bobble
Sugar Dungeon without making one mistake. Players cannot even take one
hit in Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon. If you get hit one time then you
must start the ten levels all over again in Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon.
This is aggravating. I looked around for something to adjust the
difficulty setting in Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon and did not find it.
There are upgrades that can be performed but I did not find one that let
me take more than one hit. There are also exits in Bubble Bobble Sugar
Dungeon. We can exit the dungeon at say the fifth level. We do not get
to start back at the fifth level. There is also a timer that is shared
between all ten levels in Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon. Getting enemies
in bubbles and popping them adds to the timer. Players cannot take
Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon slow and steady because they will run out of
time. Then a ghost character starts attacking players.
I like the idea of Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon. I feel like the
implementation could have been a lot better. I came away from Bubble
Bobble Sugar Dungeon with a very negative experience. I wish more video
game developers and publishers thought of how they reach the widest
audience with their games. Bubble Bobble Sugar Dungeon did not do that.
I suppose they could hire me as a consultant to help them make better
games.
