Wildfrost

I am absolutely loving the opportunity to play these different video games. Wildfrost is extremely indie in a great many ways. I think I have an idea who and what they were going for. I believe is for the hardcore card battling gamer. Do you think I fit in that category? If you answered no to that question then you would be completely right. I am also not a fan of the card battling video games. I care more about casual gaming experiences.

We get the choice of three different leaders at the start of Wildfrost. We then play with that leader until we lose. Once a player loses in Wildfrost they go back to the beginning and get their choice of three different leaders. That alone irritated me about this video game. I could not get past the first boss in Wildfrost. That is in essence the tutorial. Who makes a video game that players cannot get through the tutorial?

The music is okay in Wildfrost. I am not a fan of the graphics in this video game. I am not a fan of the difficulty in Wildfrost either. I did not find an easy way to grind in this video game. We get treasure and other cards after winning battles in this video game. I am pleased there was a physical copy version of Wildfrost from Super Rare Games. The price was a bit high for this level of content.

We earn journal pages after battles to learn the history of this fantasy land. We can ring the redraw bell at anytime in Wildfrost. That bell gives us all new cards to play on the field. There are two rows we can use to fight with an on. Sadly some enemy cards can attack both rows in one shot. There is a random luck to what cards from the deck that come up. This is one of the reasons I am not a fan of card battlers.

We can put a card back in the deck for it to heal. That means the remaining cards get trashed by the opponents. The boss battle was really bad with this. I wish there was a casual mode, and cards leveling up at a good click. I did not have fun playing Wildfrost. For me it was another bad experience with a card battler. I wanted to like this video game so badly too.
