Uncle Scrooge #461

Uncle Scrooge #461

I was not aware of Uncle Scrooge #461 at first. Here is the deal. This comic book has Uncle Scrooge #1 on it. The interesting thing is there is also a legacy numbering system used. Ya'll know me, I like to go with legacy. I had to hunt around to find the credits in the Uncle Scrooge #461 comic book. The credits are on the inside of the back cover. There is also the cover gallery and some more information.

Uncle Scrooge #461 is part one of a three part series. I also think this is a reprint of an Italian comic book from 2017. The art and the graphics in Uncle Scrooge #461 look like they are from much farther away. Disney has a lot of different irons in the fire. Dynamite is doing all of these Disney comic books. Marvel is doing some Scrooge comic books. Now I find out about Fantagraphics doing this series.

Uncle Scrooge #461 cost me $5.99. I almost baulked at the price of this comic book. I counted the pages and there are forty pages of comic book content. Most current comic books are $3.99 and they have twenty pages of comic book content. There are some comic books that sell for $2.99 and they also have twenty pages of comic book content. So I guess Uncle Scrooge #461 is not that badly priced as I initially thought.

There will be spoilers in my review of the Uncle Scrooge #461 comic book. The crosstalk page is on the back of the front cover. This page is like an editors desk which helps introduce readers to this series and the company behind it. There are some things on that page that explain characters like Gideon McDuck. There is a bit of humor within Uncle Scrooge #461. Gideon is the younger brother of Scrooge McDuck.

At the beginning of Uncle Scrooge #461 it looks like Glomgold has turned over a new leaf. Glomgold is being nice to the McDuck family. The nephews get invited to a private island. Glomgold makes all of these claims. Scrooge and Donald go to see the younger brother of Scrooge. He is missing and on an assignment deep in the Amazon. Can you guess where Scrooge and Donald go next? Yup to follow the trail.

We learn that Glomgold has not changed and is on his way to the Amazon. There is something connected with the younger brother after all. A lot of Uncle Scrooge #461 feels familiar to me. It would have been interesting if Glomgold had actually turned a new leaf. It would have been interesting if Glomgold had decided to give away a portion of his vast wealth. Uncle Scrooge #461 does not do that.
