The Garfield Movie
SCORE: 80
I am very thankful I had the money to purchase a copy of The Garfield
Movie on DVD. It takes one hundred and one minutes to watch The Garfield
Movie from start to finish. I know there are some people that were not
very happy that Chris Pratt was voicing Garfield. There are some other
more controversial actors in The Garfield Movie. The animation within
The Garfield Movie is fantastic. Spoilers will be a part of this review.
The Garfield Movie is a bit of an origin story. We find out about
Garfield's dad Vic. We find out about how Garfield meets Jon in The
Garfield Movie. We learn that Vic has been checking up on his son for a
very long time. Garfield thought Vic abandoned him. We find out later in
the movie that Vic was trying to get food when Garfield as a kitten
walked off and met Jon. Vic decided that Garfield was better off there.
The Garfield Movie introduces us to Jinx as well. She has two dogs that
help her out.
Vic pulled a job with Jinx and others many years ago. Jinx got caught
and Vic left her. At that point in the movie it looked like Vic had a
habit of leaving others behind. We find out later that Vic is not that
way with everyone. He has a soft spot in his heart for Garfield. Vic
left plenty of others behind and put his own child ahead of his crews.
Vic has a bad name around town too.
The Garfield Movie is cute and funny. There is some cartoon violence,
and a reference to highly divisive and offensive evolution religious
belief. I love when Jon is on hold with this company to help him find
his lost pets. That is honestly how many of us feel whenever we must sit
on hold on those phone lines. Garfield is a glutton in The Garfield
Movie. How can he hold all of that food in?
Jinx is really shady in The Garfield Movie. She demands all of this milk
from Vic. Jinx actually calls to turn Vic, Garfield and Odie in. Otto is
a bull that helps the crew with planning and training to get to the milk
truck in The Garfield Movie. The main security guard lady does her best
to stop them. Jinx winds up going back to the pound at the end of The
Garfield Movie after failing to kill the crew.
