The Electric State
SCORE: 64
I noticed recently there is more entertainment trying to brainwash
everyone into why we need to be connected and in person. I can take
lessons from The Electric State a couple of different ways. I will get
into that in just a little bit in this review. It took us two hours and
eight minutes to watch The Electric State from start to finish. The
issues families can have with The Electric State are violence, bad
language, evolution, blood, and more.
Chris Pratt and Millie Brown headline The Electric State movie. There
will be spoilers in my review of The Electric State movie. Michelle
(played by Millie Brown) and her genius brother Christopher have a
connection. We see them in the past first. We then find out that robots
rebelled and lost the battle for their freedom. They are put in a giant
prison (The Exclusion Zone) where they live without humans. Michelle is
all alone and going to different foster homes.
There is new technology that is sort of like VR. People put on these
helmets and can walk around in robots to do their work and also live out
their fantasies at the same time. The brain is sort of split somehow.
Sentre is behind this technology and pretty much controls the world.
Ethan Skate is over the company. Christopher shows up at Michelle's
place in a robot body in The Electric State. We later find out his body
is being kept alive in Seattle. He is in a coma though.
John D. Keats is a smuggler that gets in and out of the Exclusion Zone.
He sells stuff to people and makes a living. Michelle and her brother
sneak into his truck to get into the zone. The Butcher of Schenectady is
hunting Michelle and her brother in the robot body in The Electric
State. The robot wind up rebelling again to bring Sentre down once and
for all. The humans and robots wind up winning against Sentre.
Part of me feels like The Electric State is an attack on current
technology and VR specifically. I also feel like The Electric State is
attacking the lock downs during COVID. I have seen this sentiment in
other entertainment as well. When will these people stop whining about
it? They were the first in line to stay at home. Now they are jumping on
the band wagon of those angry about it. I liked staying home. I lost
over sixty pounds not having to go into the office. It was healthier for
me. So if anyone claims they care about health they should find out what
works for different people. Okay I am off my soap box now.
