Tamagotchi Plaza
SCORE: 78
Before I started to play Tamagotchi Plaza on the Nintendo Switch I
fully expected to live stream three to six episodes. After I played
Tamagotchi Plaza for a little over an hour I decided I was done with
this game. There is a version of Tamagotchi Plaza available on the
Nintendo Switch 2 as well. Tamagotchi Plaza comes with twelve shops in
the base game. The website claims there will be fifteen shops but the
additional three are only on the Nintendo Switch 2.
We are kidnapped by this character in a horse UFO (I kid you not) and we
are forced to work in these shops. The twelve shops I played in
Tamagotchi Plaza are Dentist, Galette Shop, Eyewear Shop, Manga Shop,
Night Pool, Bicycle Shop, Personal Training Gym, Rap Battle Venue,
Tailor Shop, and Afternoon Tea Shop. There are over one hundred
Tamagotchi in this video game. Many of them are freaky looking. We are
working on making the town better so it can win a competition to host an
event.
Tamagotchi Plaza does not look that great. The music in Tamagotchi Plaza
is nice to listen to. There is a bit of violent content in some of the
mini games in Tamagotchi Plaza. We do strange things like pull these
creatures out of teeth and put them in a cage. I still have no idea what
is going on there. If you perform the tasks properly then you can earn
currency. I would spend the currency on improving the town.
I do have a couple of issues with Tamagotchi Plaza. First off the amount
of time it takes to grind for the money is very heavy handed. These are
not the best mini games. Being forced to play them again and again gets
aggravating. This is part of the reason I stopped playing Tamagotchi
Plaza after one episode. I turned my live stream into an one shot
because I could see the writing on the wall. I did the math and it was
not good.
The next issue I have with Tamagotchi Plaza is the controls and
explanation. I still cannot figure out what to do in certain shops in
Tamagotchi Plaza. I did what the game say for the Manga for example and
still failed. I learn little tricks like moving the drill around in the
dentist game to get through that part faster. There are too many nuances
in Tamagotchi Plaza that players must figure out via trial and error. It
makes this game less fun.
