Superman #868

Superman #868

The legacy numbering for this comic book is Superman #868. The reboot number for this comic book is Superman #25. In fact it makes a big deal out of the number twenty-fifth issue. I would think being in the eight hundreds is more impressive. The cost of this comic book was $5.99. There are thirty pages of comic book content within Superman #868. I am unclear why this comic book has the same amount of content for one dollar more.

Superman #868 is part of the Summer of Superman. Spoilers will be a big part of this comic book review. The issues families can have with Superman #868 are violence, blood, bad language, and more. Advertisements can be found all throughout the Superman #868 comic book. We learn a lot more about Lex Luthor in Superman #868. We also learn about X-El. Lex did not want X-El released for any reason.

Mercy is the one that released X-El in the last issue. The current Lex Luthor with a beard that behaves well is being carted off to jail. The evil Lex Luthor is also known as X-El. This evil Lex decides to take out Superman and Superwoman in Superman #868. Marilyn shows up on a ghost/spirit horse to get revenge against Lex Luthor. He convinces her to take him to the fight.

Superman #868 gives us a fight between Superman, Superwoman, and the current Lex Luthor against X-El. Mercy is there with kryptonite near the beginning but the super couple move the fight away from there. Superman #868 also shows us that X-El is unstable like Bizarro was. I do like the black costume with the silver Superman symbol that X-El is wearing in Superman #868.

Since this is a comic book you can expect a twist ending right? Superman #868 does not disappoint in that regard. Superwoman loses her powers right at the end of Superman #868. Lois is sitting there with no powers. I am unclear how exactly that happened. I will try to keep reading to find out what is going on there. I suppose all good things must come to an end at some point in time.
