Rumbleverse

I make notes of all the different games I want to give attention to. Some of them are playing the game. Others are writing reviews, and still others are writing some FFG Original article on. Rumbleverse is an online battle royale video game that was around for a short amount of time. I had it on my list to write a review at some point in time. Well that point in time has arrived like the video series Temptations of Time that we are running right now on our YouTube channel. I did a live stream of Rumbleverse and played it again later a few times. Rumbleverse never really impressed me.

The concept of Rumbleverse is actually pretty interesting and pretty cool. Take the Fortnite formula and have characters do professional wrestling moves on one another. This is right where Rumbleverse stops being cool. The controls are questionable at best. I would come up to another player and try to do a certain move. Guess what happened? Nothing. If it was a bot they would perform the move on me after it failed on them. They did not block or anything. There are different power ups that can be earned in Rumbleverse. Plenty of players would camp those to take out other players with the standard punches and kicks. Why? Those moves actually worked.

There are different hazards in Rumbleverse that can help or hurt players. We got a weird array of characters to play. There are all kinds of things to earn and/or purchase in Rumbleverse. The glitches really sent the player base out the door really fast in this online only video game. I know plenty of other gamers that wrote Rumbleverse off really fast. I was one of them.

One of the coolest things about Rumbleverse it people that were live streaming it on the Rumble website. Rumbleverse got shut down and it is just another nail in the coffin of online only video games. Rumbleverse needed a physical copy release and a completely offline mode. If the controls worked a bit better Rumbleverse might have lasted longer. Sadly this video game goes into the heap and pile of online only video games with only a digital release that will be forgotten. Great idea but poor implementation.
