Racer X #2

SCORE: 68

Racer X #2

There are certainly some ups and some downs with Racer X #2. This comic book cost me $4.99. There are twenty pages of comic book content within Racer X #2 There are is also a six page preview in Racer X #2 for Circus Maximus #1. There is a page devoted to the next issue within Racer X #2. The credits for Racer X #2 are found on the back of the front cover. Racer X #2 continues to be supplemental to the Speed Racer comic book series.

Spoilers will be a part of this review going forward. The issues families can have with Racer X #2 are violence, and more. The six page preview has violence, blood, lack of attire and more within it. Since that was included in Racer X #2 it brings the score down a little bit. There are plenty of flash backs within Racer X #2. In fact I felt like Racer X #2 was all over the board in terms of what time period was covered.

We start out in Racer X #2 finding out about the mob and how they bet on races. Racer X uses that to his advantage. Racer X #2 lets us know in the end that Racer X bet on Speed Racer winning. Racer X did all he could in the race to ensure that outcome as well. The mob thinks they found Racer X's car so they absolutely trash it. There is one small wrinkle. The car the mob wrecks is actually the car of the guy they bet on to win.

How could they trash the wrong car in Racer X #2? Racer X painted the other guys car to look like his. The mob was completely fooled. They were not happy about it, but they did not know Racer X is the one that messed them over. Racer X #2 goes over when Speed Racer wins that first race. We are given before, during, and after that event in Racer X #2. Speed Racer has all of these plans concerning the money he wins in the race. After taxes and fees he has a whole lot less money.

The last few pages of Racer X #2 goes over the next Speed Racer issue where the two of them race. Racer X #2 also explains how and where Racer X got all of that money. Racer X thought about the two of them teaming up. The advice Racer X gives in this comic book is to bet on what you love. I know plenty of people that love certain sports teams that lose again and again. I personally prefer to avoid betting.
