Racer X #1

SCORE: 70

Racer X #1

Racer X #1 comes from the world of Speed Racer. The Racer X #1 comic book cost me $4.99. There are twenty pages of comic book content within Racer X #1. The credits are found on the back of the front cover of the Racer X #1 comic book. There is a page devoted to the next issue in Racer X #1. There is also a six page preview of Temporal #1 in Racer X #1. Violence and theft are the main two issues families can have with Racer X #1.

Warning! Spoilers on the track. Warning! The end of Racer X #1 contains some advertisements. In my Speed Racer reviews I have made my opinion quite clear on Racer X. Racer X #1 confirms everything I have been saying/writing. Rex Racer is not dead. In fact Rex Racer is Racer X. Racer X #1 gives us the background and history from Rex Racer's perspective. Rex disobeyed his father and joined the C.A.T. racing team. Rex discovers the truth about C.A.T. in Racer X #1.

Are you wondering what the truth is? C.A.T. is not on the track to win. They are there to stop good drivers from winning. Rex Racer was there to make the other drivers crash. The head of C.A.T. said: "there are two kinds of racers those that are on a team, and those that are dead men on wheels." Rex stopped to help a guy who crashed and saved his life. That got him in trouble with the boss Dante Ferno.

His own team made him crash in Racer X #1. Rex Racer's face was messed up. He was reported as dead, and given a job as a getaway driver for the Tiger Syndicate. Rex decided he was going to help Speed Racer when he found out about him racing in Racer X #1. He steals the money and uses it to get into the races and a car. Racer X #1 does not let us know for certain what his end goal is.

The good news is there will be another issue of this comic book series. I am unclear how many issues there will be for Racer X. I am curious to see where this goes. Racer X #1 does a good job of showing motives of certain characters in Speed Racer. I am expecting the past of Racer X to catch up to him. It looks like there will be another series in this franchise - Speed Racer Tales of the Road. I saw an ad for the first issue near the end of Racer X #1.
