Metal Dragon Life on Mars

Were you able to catch my jamming livestream of Metal Dragon Life on Mars on Twitch? There was some good, bad and ugly when I live streamed Metal Dragon Life on Mars. First and foremost I am thankful I had the money to buy this indie compilation video game that plays on the Evercade systems. I liked one of these games, and did not like the other. Which means for me Metal Dragon Life on Mars is fifty-fifty. There will be spoilers in this review.

Let us get to the good first. I enjoyed my time with Life on Mars. I actually enjoyed playing this indie video game that felt like a Metroid video game on the Sega Genesis. We earn power ups that allow us to get to different areas in Life on Mars. There is a story and a ship in orbit on the planet Mars. We are there to discover what happened when all communications were lost. At first the thought is some communication equipment broke.

As I progressed in Life on Mars I discovered there were zombies. We must blow them away and there are some disgusting graphics and sounds as they are being blown apart. There are a lot of colonists in Life on Mars. There are also robots we must blow away, zombie chickens and more in Life on Mars. Violence, blood and gore are a part of Life on Mars. This is sort of the bad or maybe the ugly part of Metal Dragon Life on Mars.

Another part of Metal Dragon Life on Mars that can be bad or ugly is Metal Dragon. This violent video game that makes zero sense to me has horrible bad language. Metal Dragon has the F word being used again and again. Why? Metal Dragon copies the Solid Snake games in a lot of ways. The odd thing is we are told in Metal Dragon to use stealth and to not kill anyone.

Why is it so odd that we are told to use stealth in Metal Dragon? We are playing an Ikari Warriors kind of a video game where all we do is blow away all of these enemies. I am baffled why we are told to use stealth. Is it some attempt at humor? Add in the horrible foul mouths that need to be washed out with soap and Metal Dragon is a bad experience. If the language had been better I would have enjoyed Metal Dragon more.
