Madame Web
SCORE: 61
We came up to another movie night where it was my pick. I had been
waiting to purchase a DVD of Madame Web to watch and review it. I also
saw Madame Web was on Netflix. Well it is coming off Netflix in a few
days from watching the movie and writing this review. So I decided to
watch it. I heard Madame Web was a horrible movie. I waited until after
watching Madame Web to see what others complained about. I have issues
with Madame Web, and they are not the same from the controversies.
There will be spoilers in this review. The issues families can have with
Madame Web are violence, blood, bad language, lack of attire, enticement
to lust, sex outside of marriage and more. The Madame Web movie revolves
around Cassandra Webb, and Ezekiel Sims. Ezekiel knew Cassandra's
mother. Her mother was in Peru to find this spider that has some healing
properties. A whole tribe hangs out with these spiders and get spider
like powers.
Cassandra has the ability to see the future. Ezekiel has this nightly
vision of three young women that get super powers related to spiders and
kill him. So Ezekiel decides he will kill them first. Cassandra stumbles
across the three girls sees them die, and changes their fate. Cassandra
is trying to keep the girls alive in Madame Web. Sadly the girls are
teenagers that are not really helping things much.
Since this movie is from Holly Weird you can expect radical far left
preaching in it. For example there are references to saving the climate,
and one girl is in the country illegally. Her dad was deported so she is
all alone in the big city. Cassandra vows to help the three girls in
Madame Web. Ultimately she does keep them alive once her powers truly
awaken. She gets blinded in the final fight. Her costume is horrible,
but that is Sony.
The bad guy in Madame Web acts a lot like Spider-Man. Except he is
trying to kill in Madame Web. The girls never get their powers in Madame
Web. We never hear things like Spider-Man or Peter Parker in Madame Web.
Although there are hints at them. Ben Parker talks about meeting someone
special in Madame Web. We never hear her name or see her either. Madame
Web skirts around the Spider-Man universe instead of embracing it.
