Godzilla vs Thor #1
SCORE: 64
Out of all of the Godzilla versus I have read from Marvel Godzilla vs
Thor #1 is the absolute worst one. This is an easy thing for me to say.
The cost of the Godzilla vs Thor #1 comic book was $4.99. There are
twenty-five pages of comic book content within Godzilla vs Thor #1.
There are two credit pages within Godzilla vs Thor #1. There is also
some old art on those pages as well. Advertisements can be found
throughout this comic book.
Spoilers will be a part of this review going forward. The issues
families can have with Godzilla vs Thor #1 are violence, blood, lack of
attire, enticement to lust, false gods, and more. Some of the issues
like the lack of attire and enticement to lust are part of the
advertisements and not the main comic book content. Godzilla vs Thor #1
starts with the Hand killing some murderers to give Godzilla's heart a
lot of blood.
All of that blood somehow revives Godzilla and he goes on a rampage.
Thor comes and fights Godzilla. Thor tries different things until he
finally freezes Godzilla into a giant popsicle. The lady over the Hand
is not impressed and not amused. I guess she wanted Godzilla to murder
as many people as possible. She brings a shard of a sword used to kill
false gods, and gives it to Godzilla.
The next thing we know is Godzilla is somehow at Asgard murdering
everyone there. Thor shows up to fight Godzilla again in Godzilla vs
Thor #1. Thor winds up killing Godzilla and himself at the same point in
time in Godzilla vs Thor #1. There really is no real victor in that
fight in my opinion. I guess those that are left alive can live out
their lives now. Godzilla vs Thor #1 is not really clear on that.
Things get very interesting at the end of Godzilla vs Thor #1. It shows
that Thor and Godzilla are in hell fighting one another constantly. Talk
about a drag for an afterlife. Godzilla vs Thor #1 also shows what will
be next in the series. Godzilla will now destroy the Marvel Universe in
the next one. I actually have that comic book in my pile awaiting my
attention when I can get to it.
