Gargoyles Demona #1

The Gargoyles comic books continues on with a new series - Gargoyles Demona. I am thankful I had the $4.99 to purchase a copy of this comic book. There are twenty-two pages of comic book content within Gargoyles Demona #1. There is also a page devoted to the next issue after the comic book content. We get some ads near the end of Gargoyles Demona #1. The credits can be found on the back of the front cover.

Before I forget there are two cover gallery pages within Gargoyles Demona #1. Warning! Spoilers for the rest of this review. The issues families can have with Gargoyles Demona #1 are violence, lack of attire, enticement to lust, magic, and more. Gargoyles Demona #1 is giving background to the Demona character. I feel like Gargoyles Demona #1 is trying to make this demon a sympathetic character. Kind of like how DC Comics did Etrigan.

Gargoyles Demona #1 does lay the ground work as to why Demona does not like humans very much. Demona sees humans murder the Gargoyles while they are turned to stone during the day. We also meet Angelika in Gargoyles Demona #1. Demona warned this group of Gargoyles about the humans. One youngling listened and hid somewhere away from the others. That is the only one that survived in Gargoyles Demona #1.

Gargoyles Demona #1 gives some early history to Demona and her magical and demonic background. There is quite a bit of content in Gargoyles Demona #1 from the humans in 1093. I find it interesting how the human kings work to ensure their power. Others will happily take that power. Gargoyles Demona #1 is not very kind to humans in any way, shape or form. I did not find one good human in Gargoyles Demona #1.

There is a quote that Gargoyles Demona #1 reminds me. "Villains are the heroes of their own stories." Demona reminds me of that saying. Demona is being shown as the hero in Gargoyles Demona #1 even though we all know she does all kinds of horrible and evil things. Gargoyles Demona #1 also reminds me that some people will justify anything in their own minds. There is a question that comes to mind. Are you doing good by God's definition?
