Fantastic Four Fanfare #1

SCORE: 72

Fantastic Four Fanfare #1

I am not sure how much longer I will be reading the Fantastic Four comic books. At first I thought this was a mainline Fantastic Four comic book, then I realized it was a separate series. I am a bit confused why Fantastic Four Fanfare #1 is a longer comic book. The cost of the Fantastic Four Fanfare #1 comic book was $5.99. There are three stories in Fantastic Four Fanfare #1. Advertisements can be found throughout the Fantastic Four Fanfare #1 comic book.

The first story in Fantastic Four Fanfare #1 is ten pages long. The second story is eleven pages long. The last story in Fantastic Four Fanfare #1 is ten pages long. That brings the total page count to thirty-one pages of comic book content. There is an intro/credits page within Fantastic Four Fanfare #1. There is also a page devoted to the next issue near the end of the Fantastic Four Fanfare #1 comic book. Spoilers will be a part of this review.

The first story in Fantastic Four Fanfare #1 is about Mole Man dying. Mole Man has a tumor in his brain that the doctors cannot get to. So Sue Storm visits him and tells him about understanding monsters. Sue Storm heals him by using her powers to slip in and destroy the tumor. Sue does this behind the back of Reed Richards her husband. Sue also talks about why Mole Man is blind. It might be psychological.

The second story feels like a much older one. Reed and Sue announce they are pregnant with their first child. I do not know if this was a reprint or just going back in time and telling an older story. The Circus of Crime is at the fair the Fantastic Four goes to - to celebrate. Sue Storm convinces them to leave them alone and give them a night off. The second story in Fantastic Four Fanfare #1 is mainly a lot of couples talking.

The final story in Fantastic Four Fanfare #1 is Clobbering Time. Again this feels like an older story that was put into this comic book. Or maybe it is a reprint. I am not sure one way or the other. Namor is working with Galactus to fight the Fantastic Four in a wrestling match. One at a time. Sue Storm is being held hostage. Reed Richards and Johnny Blaze both lose in Fantastic Four Fanfare #1. Then The Thing gets his turn and he wins.
