Fantastic Four #723
SCORE: 70
I am a little shocked that the Fantastic Four #723 comic book costs
$4.99 when there are only twenty pages of content. After the reboot this
comic book also shows as Fantastic Four #30. The deeper I get into the
comic book industry the more messed up I realize it is on so many
different levels. There is quite a bit of emotion and thought put into
this comic book.
Spoilers are going to be a part of this review. Fantastic Four #723
happens right after the events of One World Under Doom #2. Doom cures
Ben and the Marvel Universe loses The Thing. Ben is completely human in
Fantastic Four #723. Here is an interesting tidbit on that - Ben did not
ask for that to happen. Ben was at peace with who he was.
Ben’s wife tries to cheer him up with a date night in Fantastic Four
#723. A robber tries to steal from them and Ben reacts as a hero. He
gets shot in the hand for his heroics in Fantastic Four #723. Ben is not
happy without having his powers anymore. Depression sinks in for Ben in
Fantastic Four #723. Ben does not deal with the changes to well.
Ben really struggles with the changes to his body in Fantastic Four
#723. Ben even gets depressed. Ben lies to his family and friends in
this comic book. He tells he will get discharged from the hospital in
the afternoon. He actually got out in the morning. He goes to his father
in law to get turned back into The Thing. The man cannot do that, so a
smile is put on his face instead.
I find it interesting that so many people want to help Ben in this comic
book. He could be happy and embrace finally being human again. He
chooses to be miserable instead in Fantastic Four #723. How would you
feel if that change happened to you? Fantastic Four #723 really made me
think about the different reactions by the different characters.
