Eye Lie Popeye #4
SCORE: 70
It has been awhile since this comic book series last released an
issue. In fact the review for the last one was in 2024. I am in May of
2025 reviewing Eye Lie Popeye #4. At least four months if not more. The
end of this comic book references the next issue will be out next month.
I honestly kind of doubt that since Eye Lie Popeye #4 is officially
listed as an April 2025 release. Maybe I will be wrong and pleasantly
surprised.
Eye Lie Popeye #4 cost $4.99. There are twenty-four pages of comic book
content within Eye Lie Popeye #4. There is also a page devoted to the
next issue. The credits can be found on the back of the front cover of
the Eye Lie Popeye #4 comic book. The inside of the back cover contains
an advertisement. The back cover has some Popeye art that looks a lot
like the front cover. I will include spoilers in my review of this comic
book.
Things get curiouser and curiouser in Eye Lie Popeye #4. Whimpy is
asleep so he is being controlled by a bad guy in Eye Lie Popeye #4. This
bad guy takes out the other two bad characters for a little bit in Eye
Lie Popeye #4. This guy has a different missions that has been deemed
more important. Sweet Pea is kidnapped in Eye Lie Popeye #4. The family
is aghast at this horrible deed.
Why would Sweet Pea get kidnapped in this comic book with a bit of
violent content? Sweet Pea is actually a Whiffle Hen. What is that you
might be asking. That is one of the luckiest beings in this fantasy
universe. That is how Popeye supposedly won so often when the deck was
stacked against him. The witch explains this. Eye Lie Popeye #4 also
lets us know that Olive is descended from a long line of powerful
witches.
The art is fantastic in Eye Lie Popeye #4. I am unclear how many issues
this series will be getting. I can see things wrapping up in a couple of
issues. I could see the storyline going for much longer than that. I am
enjoying this comic book series even though the price is a bit high for
the amount of comic book content. Did you know that the Popeye franchise
is ninety-five years old? The front cover of Eye Lie Popeye #4 told me
that.
