Elements of Destruction

Want to know something interesting? The hand held version of Elements of Destruction has a lower rating than the home console version. I guess there is less violence and destruction in the Nintendo DS version. Since we have not reviewed the home console version of Elements of Destruction I am unclear as to why there is such a difference. I do have my official suspicions.

I was not sure what kind of a video game Elements of Destruction would be before I played it. This television weather man is in trouble because he reports the different storms. He is asked to only report sunny weather. The viewers only want to be told about the good times, and sunny weather according to this lady. The man refuses and is fired. He gets replaced by someone that will only report sunny weather.

Can you guess what this television weather man does next? He starts to use his invention that creates storms to decimate the local area. We release storms in an area and can control them. The graphics look okay for this era. We send storms to destroy houses, businesses, power plants, crops and more in Elements of Destruction. We can slightly control them while they are out there.

Storms in Elements of Destruction will dissipate in a certain amount of time. We can have two storms active at one time. The issue is we can only control one at a time. So we must quickly swap before the other storm dissipates away. There are power ups in Elements of Destruction that will make the storms more powerful. The music in Elements of Destruction is fun to listen to. There is an almost horror element to this game.

The levels in Elements of Destruction have a time limit. The more we destroy in that time limit the better in Elements of Destruction. In some ways Elements of Destruction remind me of games like Rampage. We must destroy as much as possible as fast as possible. I found making the storms go back and forth over certain structures would take them out faster. There is a mini map that shows the remaining buildings.
