Doom 2099 #1
SCORE: 67
The 2099 Marvel series has always held a little bit of a fascination
for me. Doom 2099 #1 caught my eye and I was all in. I was so happy for
a new series on Doom 2099. I read Doom 2099 #1. I had some sneaking
suspicions concerning this series. I did some research to find out that
Doom 2099 #1 is an one shot. There will not be a series. Doom 2099 #1
also completely connects into One World Under Doom.
There will be spoilers in this review going forward. The issues families
can have with Doom 2099 #1 are violence, magic, bad language, and more.
There is an intro credits page. Doom 2099 #1 cost me $4.99. There are
twenty-five pages of comic book content within Doom 2099 #1. Marvel
cannot seems to figure out their pricing point on their comic books.
There are other comic books for the same price with more pages, and some
with less.
Doom from 2099 comes back to the past with a plethora of different
heroes to attack Emperor Doom. Why is this happening? Doom from the
future is trying to stop his past self. Doom 2099 is trying to get
Emperor Doom to give up the Sorcerer Supreme powers in Doom 2099 #1. Can
you guess what happens? Emperor Doom refuses and fights all of them off.
Emperor Doom wins and sends all of them back to their timelines.
Doom 2099 #1 references there being different timelines. I know this
same concept is being used in the X-Men right now. The different
timelines are being allowed to interact and impact one another. Well I
am not sure there is much impact in Doom 2099 #1. Emperor Doom fights
them off, and wins. The whole thing with the Cosmic Ghost Rider was
interesting. The Penance Stare did not impact Emperor Doom at all.
The twist or shock ending in Doom 2099 #1 is we see what Doom 2099 has
in the future. In essence Doom 2099 has nothing and no one. The Earth
looks desolate. What is the point of ruling if you are over nothing and
no one? Is this what Emperor Doom has in store for his future? I suspect
it will be a little bit different. I recognized a great many of the
characters in Doom 2099 #1. Maestro was an interesting one.
