DC KO #1

SCORE: 70

DC KO #1

I waffled back and forth about whether or not to purchase the DC KO #1 series. I knew this event might be interesting. I also thought I might wait for the graphic novel. When I saw DC KO #1 at our local comic book store I decided to purchase it. The cost of the DC KO #1 comic book was $5.99. There are forty pages of comic book content within DC KO #1. There are also chapter pages, and a two page intro credits page.

The bracket showing the different characters is most interesting to me. That is a two page spread. The checklist page, and page for the next issue may interest some of our readers. Spoilers will be a part of this review. The issues families can have with DC KO #1 are violence, blood, false gods, magic, bad language, lack of attire and more. Time Trapper explains to the Justice League that in seven days time they lose to Darkseid.

In fact everyone loses all over the universe. The time traveling characters were able to move time back seven days to prepare a solution. The one that they come up with is to have a tournament to fight to gain the power of the dark heart and hopefully be able to fight off Darkseid. Not everyone is big on this plan. To me DC KO #1 feels like the dance with the devil, and the devil changes you.

I suspect many of these characters will be changed badly in this series. The heroes try and put the villains away and only have heroes in this tournament. Somehow the villains show up to fight in DC KO #1 as well. It looks like The Joker kills Batman in DC KO #1. It also shows Batman in the tournament. I will need to keep reading to understand what transpired there. Superman kept holding off the bad guys to let more people through. Superman wound up being the last character in.

I know from some other things I read that DC KO is supposed to have a lot of surprises in it. I also know what the cover of the next Superman comic book looks like. I checked the checklist to ensure I was reading this in the right order. DC KO #1 is doing a good job setting things up. How did they defeat Darkseid before? DC KO #1 tries to explain why he is so much more powerful. It does not all make sense to me.
