Cold Slither #1

Cold Slither #1

First and foremost I thought the idea of a Cold Slither comic book was pretty interesting. I remember the G.I. Joe cartoon where Zartan and his Dreadnoks were a rock band singing that one song. Cobra used subliminal messages to brainwash people into following Cobra. G.I. Joe stopped them in the cartoon. Cold Slither #1 takes a little bit different approach. There will be spoilers in my review of the Cold Slither #1 comic book.

The Cold Slither #1 comic book cost me $3.99. There are twenty-four pages of comic book content within Cold Slither #1. There is a page from the editor talking about tribes near the end of Cold Slither #1. There are also some advertisements. One of the ads in Cold Slither #1 really caught my eye. G.I. Joe #13 poses a question. Who will survive the Dreadnok War? So the Dreadnoks will be front in center in the next storyline. Which makes Cold Slither #1 make a whole lot more sense.

Hector Ramirez is doing a show in Cold Slither #1. He wanted to find out what happened to the band. So he goes and interviews them one at a time. Cold Slither #1 culminates with the band getting back together and playing again in a live stream. Cold Slither #1 goes over the history of the song and the band. Kids watched the video and got brainwashed into thinking Cobra was really good. America welcomed Cobra as their new leaders.

Where Zartan and his Dreadnoks wound up was pretty fascinating to me personally. Buzzer makes the most sense knowing his background. Zartan made the least sense to me. The interesting thing is G.I. Joe is actually resisting Cobra's rule. They got the band back together to reverse the brainwashing to fight against Cobra in Cold Slither #1. The band is just happy to be back together again.

The issues families can have with Cold Slither #1 are violence, lack of attire, enticement to lust, bad language, false gods, and more. The credits can be found on the back of the front cover of this comic book. Cold Slither #1 feels like an alternate reality. It is an interesting one though. I like the idea of how it all worked out in Cold Slither #1. I find it funny that Zartan and Dreadnoks love that they brought Cobra down at the end of Cold Slither #1.
