Blue and Gold
SCORE: 72
I am thankful I had the $19.99 to purchase a copy of the Blue and
Gold graphic novel. There are one hundred and ninety-two pages within
Blue and Gold. This graphic novel contains Blue and Gold #1 through Blue
and Gold #8. I like how this graphic novel pays homage to the different
aspects of the characters. I will get into that in a little bit.
Spoilers are going to be a part of this reviews. The issues families can
have with Blue and Gold are violence, bad language, evolution, lack of
attire, enticement to lust, false gods, and more. The bad content in
Blue and Gold is lighter than a lot of the other comic books and graphic
novels. This graphic novel is also a good compilation of these heroes.
Expect plenty of humor within this graphic novel.
Booster Gold has been a personal favorite character of mine for a very
long time. Blue Beetle is his good friend. In the past the two
characters were more of comic relief. Then Booster Gold went into being
a time traveling superhero and he really got into his own. I am not a
fan of the two being comic relief, but this graphic novel tries to
thread that needle.
Booster Gold is live streaming his saves in Blue and Gold. Comments on
the live streaming are being shown in this graphic novel. This is really
creative, fun, and fresh. Omnizon attacks at first in Blue and Gold. Her
ancient culture laid claim to the Earth a long time ago. Rip Hunter goes
back in time and moves their beacon to free the heroes that were forced
to fight one another.
Later the Black Beetle attacks in Blue and Gold. We learn a shocking
truth about the Black Beetle in Blue and Gold. Black Beetle is Booster
Gold from a dark universe. Black Beetle wants Skeets so he can know the
future and cheat. Buy stock in companies before they make it big so to
speak. The hero’s stop him in Blue and Gold. I enjoyed this read quite a
bit.
