Anno 1800
SCORE: 76
I recently live streamed Anno 1800 for an one shot. I wanted to play
this game some more but there are plenty of other video games awaiting
my time and attention. There are some good things, and some bad things
about Anno 1800. First and foremost the graphics in Anno 1800 look
great. I love how we can zoom in and zoom out easily with the camera. We
can place buildings and then put the resources toward building them.
How to do things exactly is what really confused me concerning Anno
1800. For example I would put down a potato farm, and build some potato
fields. Anno 1800 would have a warning that I had no potato fields. I
did. What I did not realize at first is I had twenty of a possible
seventy or seventy-two. Anno 1800 expected me to build the entire set.
There should have been an error in Anno 1800 that told me to build more
potato fields.
I also noticed certain things could not be done in Anno 1800 until the
game in Story mode told me to do it. I saw some old district that could
be cleaned out. Anno 1800 would not let me clean them out until someone
gave me a quest to do so. Anno 1800 should have let me do it and then
completed the quest when it came up. Buildings would have something over
them but I could never figure out what Anno 1800 wanted me to do.
The issues families can have with Anno 1800 are violence, bad language,
and more. There are things like smoking and drinking in Anno 1800. Since
this is the 1800s we build pubs for our people. Anno 1800 may not be the
most intuitive video game. Once I figured out how to do something I knew
it for good. The main character is part of a really messed up family in
Anno 1800.
I enjoyed building a town up from nothing in Anno 1800. I like how
families can go through the story mode or play Anno 1800 in the sandbox
mode. There is plenty of voice acting within Anno 1800. This home
console video game taught me to think about how I wanted to build a
town. I put the roads down as well as the different industries like the
fishery and market place. I learned to keep warehouses close.
