Adventure Time #5

I was planning on not reading anymore of this series. I saw Adventure Time #5 at our local comic book store and noticed Billy was in it on multiple pages. I decided to spend the $4.99 to see what was going on. After all of those annoying side quests were we finally getting to where we needed to go? Adventure Time #5 starts a new series too. Adventure Time #5 starts Friends to the End. This is of course the first part.  I did see the next comic book in this series at my local comic book store but did not purchase it.

The credits are on the back of the front cover of the Adventure Time #5 comic book. There are twenty pages of comic book content within Adventure Time #5. There is also a two page story on Governor Tiffany. There is a page for the next issue, a cover gallery and advertisements near the end of the Adventure Time #5 comic book. There are numerous aspects of Adventure Time #5 that really let me down.

Spoilers will be a part of this review going forward. Finn and Jake have a flashback when they were younger showing off to their dad. Finn always wanted to be a hero and wanted adventure. Jake is not so sure about it part of the time. Jake is worried about Finn since part of his arm is gone. They found out that Billy is with the Computer Princess. Adventure Time #5 brings us back to the beginning.

Technically Billy is not in the Computer Kingdom. Many years ago Computer Princess made a robot copy of Billy to help him fight the Lich. The Lich was trapped by Billy and so was the Enchridion. The robot version of Billy was kept outside of the trap. At least that is what the robot version of Billy tells everyone. Is it actually true? Did something more sinister happen in the past?

Computer Princess has been making robot versions of numerous other characters. She has a robot version of Finn in Adventure Time #5. Finn decides that he and the robot version of himself will go and fight the Lich. Jake stays behind because he is not convinced this is a good idea. Finn breaks into the prison and the Lich takes over his body at the end of Adventure Time #5. Jake is playing with the crown of robot Ice King. Will it help save the day?
