Adventure Time #1
SCORE: 70
I was at our local comic book store recently and came across
Adventure Time #1. I remember there was some Adventure Time comic book
series many years back. In fact we found some of them on a trip to
Nashville, TN when we went to that McKay's store. This is a brand new
series being worked on in the year of our Lord 2025. I decided to check
this comic book out even though it was $4.99.
There are twenty pages of mainline comic book content within Adventure
Time #1. After that are two pages of a Tree Trunks story. Then we get a
page devoted to the next issue. After that are four pages of alternate
covers. Adventure Time #1 ends with some advertisements. The credits for
Adventure Time #1 can be found on the back of the front cover. There is
a bit of cartoon violence within Adventure Time #1. There is also some
mild name calling.
There will be spoilers in my review of the Adventure Time #1 comic book.
The story in Adventure Time #1 seems to hop all around. Finn and Jake
are fighting a slime monster at first. The adventuring duo notices a
cool sword inside the slime monster. Finn gets the sword and winds up
destroying the slime monster that tastes like raspberry in Adventure
Time #1. That is just the beginning.
Finn starts to sing and the computer he ate that is in his tummy catches
a broadcast from the Computer Princess. She is being kidnapped by the
Ice King. They save her, and then go to her Computer Kingdom. She wants
to upgrade Finn with that computer in his tummy. Other princesses are in
this Computer Kingdom as well. The Computer Princess needs the
Enchiridion, so Finn and Jake go off to get it.
There is a small problem for Finn and Jake in Adventure Time #1. They
have no idea where to look for this book. They decide they need to go
and find Billy. That is where the mainline story in Adventure Time #1
wraps up. It will continue in the next issue. The Tree Trunks one is
about Death coming for her. She does all this stuff she wants only to
find out Death is there for the wrong person.
