ACA NEOGEO Selection Vol. 4

I continue my exploration of the SNK Neo Geo arcade titles on the Nintendo switch with ACA NEOGEO Selection Vol. 4. There are 10 titles on this cartridge. The ten titles are Art of Fighting 3, The King of Fighters 2000, The Last Blade, Metal Slug, Neo Geo Cup ’98 The Road to the Victory, Ninja Commando, Pulstar, Puzzled Ragnagard, and The Super Spy. These games are all arcade quality.

There are four fighting games, three shooters, one puzzle game, one sports game and one first person brawler. The Super Spy is the first person brawler. The issues families can have with this video game are lack of attire, enticement to lust, violence, blood, and more. These compilations continue to be heavy with the 2-D side scrolling fighters.

Each game contains a tutorial on what controls to use to play. The one issue there is these are the arcade controls and not the controls on the Nintendo Switch. The first person brawler has the most interesting camera angles of all of the games on this cartridge. I really enjoyed the soccer game on ACA NEOGEO Selection Vol. 4.

The puzzle game reminds me of Tetris in some regards. There are 10 shaped blocks we must use to try and clear the lines that have spaces in between them based on certain shapes. There are different viewpoints used in the different shooters on ACA NEOGEO Selection Vol. 4. The loading times continued to be longer than I would expect.

Family members can insert as many coins as they want with the press of a button. So you can make it through all of these games in one sitting if you so desire. I found some of the two fighting games are better than others. That may be a personal preference. I am thankful that this game came out in a physical copy format.
