Just Dance 2023

You guys know me. I am open, honest and transparent. My reviews are
all about my experiences. I am very disappointed with Just Dance 2023. I
need to give you guys some background here. I found out about Just Dance
when Just Dance 2 was released. I started with Just Dance and have
played every single Just Dance game since then. We have recorded Just
Dance videos for our YouTube channel for over a decade now. Aside from
the original Just Dance we have used the Kinect sensor on the Xbox 360
or Xbox One. The Wii Remote controls on Just Dance were not always
accurate.
Just Dance 2023 comes out and we are shocked to find out that Kinect
support has been dropped. Just Dance 2023 plays on the Nintendo Switch,
Playstation 5, and Xbox Series X. We were given a code for Xbox Series X
and the phone had all kinds of connection glitches. So we requested a
code for the Nintendo Switch and our contacts at Ubisoft provided that.
They also gave us a code for the Playstation 5 but we never redeemed it.
I did some research and found that the camera does not work so well on
the PS5. So it was another use your phone as a controller. Why can’t we
use controllers?
On the Nintendo Switch one controller is used and held in the players
right hand. I am baffled as to why two controllers were not used for the
control scheme. We have tested all kinds of theories and cannot figure
out why the Nintendo Switch does not score properly. We have recorded
numerous videos of the songs of Just Dance 2023 and it shows me doing
the moves properly and getting one to two stars. Some songs score
superstar on the first try. Others took me three to five tries to get
the normal five star score. It has been an extremely frustrating
experience.
There are only a couple of Kids songs in Just Dance 2023 and no real
official Kids section. This is another major bummer with Just Dance
2023. There are songs with content families will find offensive. There
are also some dancers that will offend many families. What is more
offensive is the game not scoring properly when the moves are done
perfectly. On the Kinect sensor I would score five stars to megastars
the first time I ever saw a song on the super majority of songs. I am
unable to duplicate that one Just Dance 2023. I am not a big fan of the
menu layout in Just Dance 2023 either.
The graphics in Just Dance 2023 are neat. The music is clear. There are
plenty of good exercise moves to do within Just Dance 2023. There is an
exercise mode within Just Dance 2023 as well. There is a storyline
within some of the songs in Just Dance 2023. These dancers go through
portals to meet, dance battle, and recruit other dancers. I found the
whole thing pretty cool and looked for it while I played Just Dance
2023.
Just Dance 2023 wants to connect to Ubisoft servers in order to play the
game. Having to be online might be why many of the songs do not score
accurately. The songs can be downloaded to the local device. We deleted
all kinds of content and downloaded the songs to the Xbox Series X and
Nintendo Switch. The thing is we could not find a way to force the game
to let us use the offline versions of the songs. I reached out to
Ubisoft support a month ago and have still not heard back. Three songs
also get an error when we try to play them and will not load. There are
no real physical copies of this game. The cases come with a download
code not a disc or cartridge.
